Do You Schnibble?

Do you enjoy making Schnibbles, the small quilts designed by Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co?  I haven't actually made a quilt using a Schnibble pattern before; the closest I came was when I Schnibble-sized my Spools quilt by reducing the block size to use a charm pack instead of a jelly roll.  But when I saw the Full House pattern, I knew I wanted to make it to hang in our kitchen.

I even bought the pattern and all the materials, including two charm packs of Little Gatherings, the fabric collection used in the original.  The charm packs, yardage, and pattern have been stored in a zip-lock bag, like my own little kit, just waiting to grab my attention again.

The time is now!

  1. Sounds like a lot of fun! I hope it turns out to be a little project that doesn't require much time, that you tremendously enjoy making, and that is perfect for your kitchen. Sometimes it's a lot of fun taking a break from bigger projects to make a wee little thing, isn't it?

  3. I love making Schnibbles. I'm in the Schnibbles group that makes one pattern each month. I love being able to buy some charm packs and maybe a bit of yardage and then making a quilt out of something totally way out of my usual comfort level, stash wise. I normally sew with lots of reproductions and other patriotic fabrics, but for a Schnibble I can buy something way different and have fun playing with it. It helps keep from stagnating. Have fun making yours! Be careful, they are sort of like potatoe chips--you can't stop with just one!

  4. I am working on my first Schnibbles right now and am totally hooked! The directions are great and the small size helps with keeping on budget.

  5. I LOVE Schnibbles. I've made more than I can count. Sewing those little patterns really gave me confidence as a quilter to try new designs and different fabric. Full House is one of my favorites.

  6. I have made one before. I love following the schnibble along in my blog reader, but I don't participate. There's no way I could keep up! It's great to see all the different colour ways and interpretations.
