I pieced the sashing on Monday evening then last night I began sewing the whole quilt together. More to do but you can now see how the design comes together once you add the pieced sashing to the blocks.
Kim Diehl, the designer of this quilt, called her version Twilight Hopscotch but I need a new name. At the moment, I am partial to All Is Calm, though this does not need to be a Christmas quilt exclusively so maybe something else would be better. What I mean is, do you have a suggestion?

I think All is Calm is perfect, even for a year-round quilt. Calm is a good thing. The green really makes for a serene look. It is really pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! I just couldn't help but, say out loud and to myself "Wow!" Really I love it.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Star of Wonder".... because of the season.... You pieced this beautifully and so quick!
ReplyDeleteI like All Is Calm, as well. This is one of my all time fans. I have had it on my list for ages and I just love seeing yours getting done. You do such beautiful work!!!! I find myself coming back and back to your blog and pouring over your finishes. you are an inspiration! :0)
ReplyDeletehahaha Favs, not fans.
ReplyDeleteI like your name and think it is quite fitting. Looks like the twilight and calm so think you have a winner with that.
ReplyDeleteCathy, that is just beautiful. It comes together in such an interesting design with the sashing on. I think All is Calm is a lovely name too! Star of Wonder was a great suggestion too. How about Wintergreen?
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful ! This quilt is going together quickly for you ! You have a tough decision picking a name for this quilt.

It is a striking quilt. I think the name you came up with is great "All is Calm" is perfect for a seasonal quilt or a year round one. Radiant Star is a name that comes to my mind when I see the lines or rays of light coming outward from the stars. I believe a quilter should decide upon the name for a quilt they are keeping. If you aren't happy with All is Calm, then wait a bit and the right one will eventually come to you. It is a beautiful quilt & I really do love 2 color quilts now.
